Academic Curriculum

Academics take a high priority at KinderNoggin and the carefree spirit and playful nature of children is embraced. In developing our curriculum, we considered the whole child -intellectually, socially, physically and emotionally.

KinderNoggin’s curriculum and lesson plans were developed using developmentally appropriate goals and objectives in combination with of North Carolina approved early-childhood curricula. KinderNoggin partners with creative and very talented preschool teachers that have shown their ability to educate, inspire and motivate young children by thinking outside the box.

KinderNoggin is dedicated to providing a high-quality learning environment with a personable and cozy feel that is welcoming to preschool children. Goals and objectives for children’s learning are based on each child’s individual development. Our program sets high and clear expectations which foster a culture of achievement.

Conscious Discipline

Conscious Discipline is a classroom management technique that places focus on positive behavior and well defined limits. It celebrates the child’s successes and choices while helping the teacher see situations from the child’s perspective, as well as their own. It creatively teaches the child how to communicate their wishes and frustrations with words, using an acceptable manner, and it holds the child accountable to those teachings.

Based on current brain research, child development information, and developmentally appropriate practices this social-emotional curriculum was specifically designed to make changes in the lives of adults first then, in turn, the adults change the lives of children. It holds adults accountable as models of acceptable behavior for children, then as adults begin to change their attitudes and behaviors, so will the children in their care.  We cannot teach behaviors and skills that we do not possess ourselves.

Conscious Discipline is a way for organizing classrooms around the concept of a School Family. Each member of the family, both teacher and child, learns the skills needed to successfully manage life tasks such as communicating effectively, getting along with others, being sensitive to others’ needs, forming relationships and learning.

Conscious Discipline scientifically and practically links social-emotional learning and classroom management to achieve childcare program-wide success.
